Abstract

The present investigation was carried out on 174 females of control and on 342 females of inbred (FX=50%) populations of White Leghorn. The least square means of age and weight at sexual maturity, weight of first egg and 90-dayegg production were found as 201.19±2.01 days, 1355±14.71g, 42.70±0.50g, 43.65±0.74 eggs and 173.03±4. 12 days, 1258.64±29.31g, 41.37±1.01g, 45.87±1.42 eggs, in inbred and control populations, respectively. The heritability estimates were found as O.57±0.23, 0.24±0.14. 1.17±0.43, 1.16±0.42 and O.25±0.24, 0.47±0.30, 1.57±0.65, 0.332±0.37, of above characters in inbred and control flocks, respectively. The genetic and phenotypic correlations were mostly significant in both the populations.
