Body weight of domestic pigeons (Columba livia domestica) of Assam in relation to the sex of the birds,season of hatching and location was studied folloiwng neld survey covering a total of 405 birds.The least squares averages for body weight at hatching, market age (5 to 8 weeks) and adult age (6 months and above) of pigeons were 13.41±0.25 g, 257.32±2.31 g and 345.62±1.19 g respectively. Males were found to the significantly heavier than females at market and adult age. The pre-monsoon (March to May) hatched birds were signifiantly heavier than the birds hatched during the monsoon season (June to September) at hatching and adult age. Significant effect of location was also Observed on body weight at market and adult age.
