Astudywas undertakenon 135 broiler sraised on deep litter to assess the effect of replacing maize by apple pomace at 0, 10 and 20 percent levels during summer season. Each of the three diets was fed to three groups of 7 days old broilers for five weeks. The performance of broilers with respect to fed consumption, body weight gain, feed efficiency and mortality did not differ significantly between the groups feed apple pomace at 0 and 10% levels. However, the weight gain and feed efficiency was significantly adversely affected in the group fed apple pomace at 20 percent level. It may be concluded that maize can be replaced by apple pomace upto 10 percent level in the ration of broiler birds without any adverse effect on their performance during summer season.
