This paper deals with the synchronisation of non-autonomous system and controlling of chaos for non-linear oscillation of a satellite in an elliptic orbit around the Earth under the influence of aerodynamic and gravitational torque. It is assumed that the orbital plane of the satellite coincides with the equatorial plane of the Earth. Using Euler's dynamical equation of motion, the equation of motion for the problem is derived. In this paper, an approach to find the Lyapunov function for synchronisation of master-slave non-autonomous system through linear state error feedback control is developed. This approach has been applied to Resourcesat1, an artificial satellite of the Earth. It is observed that for aerodynamic torque and mass distribution parameters the chaotic behaviour is controlled using feedback control. It is concluded that the chaotic system can be controlled using an appropriate values of mass parameter and aerodynamic torque parameter.
