Abstract

In this paper, mathematical modelling and simulation of microgrid (MG) system com- prised solar photovoltaic system, wind turbine generator and fuel cell as its main components. Bat- tery energy storage systemisalsopresented in the system to account for those periods when renew- able energy sources are not available to fulfil the load demand because of the unavailability of resources or environmental condition. The proposed model is considered in p.u. system under nor- mal operating conditions. First, the mathematical model of each subsystem has discussed in detail in this paper, then the system is approximated to its transfer function for simplicity. The power dis- tribution among subsystems of MG according to the demand power has been done efficiently with power management scheme. Then the simulation and analysis of system has been carried out in time domain for 24 h with real-time data. Data is given into small time slots of 15–15 min to increase understanding of results. The system is designed and simulated on MATLAB/Simulink.
