Collocation Method Using Wavelet for Partial Differential Equation

Abstract

This article discusses numerical collocation approach for solving partial differential equation. The test problem of heat equation depicts close resemblance to their exact solutions which is obtained from computer implementation of the method. The method uses Haar wavelet as basis and the orthonormal properties of Haar help in simplified calculation and improved solution with higher resolution. The tables along with plots included, clearly highlights the improvement in solution pattern with a brief formulation of convergence analysis.
