Abstract

It has been investigated the existence of a relationship between the Mediterranean Sea level and north Atlantic Oscillations (NAO). In this work we investigate the link between Mediterranean Sea level and NAO and the recent solar indices observed in the coastal areas of Turkey. For this purpose monthly and annual mean sea level values, solar indices and NAO data from 1950 to 2006 have been analyzed by using wavelet analysis. The results indicate that there is a negative relationship between the sea level values and NAO indices as it is expected. On the other hand there exists positive relationship between the sea level and recent solar indices in Antalya that is the city at the southern coast of Turkey.
