Abstract

The evaluation of departmental performance is essential for the smooth functioning and growth of every organization. Each department plays a pivotal role in establishing and sustaining the company or organization, facilitating the simultaneous execution of numerous and complex activities, and contributing to the achievement of common objectives. Consequently, organizations monitor the performance of each department rigorously, recognizing that the performance of a single department can significantly impact the entire company, affecting its reputation and its employees. Several factors are critical in assessing company performance. This study primarily focuses on the development of a hybrid mathematical model, combining Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), to depict the performance of each department within the company. The model aims to provide insights into the reasons behind departmental performances and assess the performance of individual employees within these departments using DEA. Additionally, the study conducts a thorough analysis of the problem and offers recommendations. To validate the proposed model, a case study is conducted within an IT firm.
