The molecular transfer of thermal energy because of temperature difference defines the heat diffusion phenomenon in solid, liquid and gases. At different temperatures, particles of a material allow the heat flow through diffusion. When heat is transferred through a material, heat diffusion process takes place. In this paper, analysis has been made to analyse the heat flow in a rod of length L and diffusivity α using one dimensional diffusion equation with specific initial and boundary conditions. The results are obtained by solving the diffusion equation using method of lines for three and four interior node points and shown graphically.
