Abstract

Field experiment was conducted during Kharif 2012 to identify the effect of sequential application of herbicides for weed control in transplanted rice. Herbicides were applied at different stages of the crop. Among the herbicide combinations sequential application of pre-emergence application of pretilachlor 750g/ha followed by post-emergence application of admixture of chlorimuronethy l10 per cent + metsulfuron methyl 10 per cent 4 g/ha effectively controlled the weeds in terms of reduced density of weeds, weed dry weight and higher weed control efficiency at all the stages of observation.
