The present study provides a comprehensive understanding of butterfly diversity and its relative dominance in three distinct habitats of Udaipur, Rajasthan. During the study period, a total of 4445 individuals belonging to 57 species of 5 families were identified. The research highlighted that Habitat-1 (forested ecosystem) demonstrated the highest butterfly diversity and abundance (56 species). In contrast, Habitat-3 (urban area) had the lowest butterfly diversity and abundance, with 45 species, while Habitat-2 (agriculture area) showed moderate diversity and abundance. The findings focus on importance of forested ecosystems in supporting rich and diverse butterfly populations and emphasize the need for habitat conservation and management to enhance butterfly diversity in other habitats.
