Abstract

Surveys were carried out in different districts viz., Shivamogga, Davangere and Chitradurga of Karnataka and collected hymenopteran parasitoids parasitizing insect pests attacking different crop ecosystems. The mtCOI gene was used in the present investigation for identification and elucidating evolutionary relationships of different hymenopteran parasitoids species. Molecular identification of hymenopteran parasitoid species belonging to four familes viz., Braconidae (Crinibracon chromusae, Cotesia vestalis, Phanerotoma sp. and Bracon sp.), Encyrtidae (Leptomastix nigrocincta, Copidosoma floridanum and Anagyrus pseudococci), Eulophidae (Tetrastichus schoenobii and Chrysocharis sp.) and Ichneumonidae (Campoletis chlorideae) was carried out and phylogenetic tree was constructed.
