This study conducted at the Panakkukang market in Makassar city showed that the presence of Aedes sp. larvae was influenced by container material and colour. Most larvae were found in plastic containers (55%) and dark coloured containers (65%). In addition, the results of the chi-square statistical test of the relationship between the presence of larvae and the condition of waste water disposal facilities showed a significant value (p<0.05) of 0.009. This indicates that there is a significant relationship between the condition of sewerage and the presence of Aedes sp. larvae.
