Addressing the research gap on praying mantises in Bangladesh through a bibliometric analysis and literature review, the present study was conducted to observe the morphometric variation and behavioural pattern of these natural predators in the Chittagong University campus, Bangladesh. To achieve the study's goals, eight carefully selected locations with diverse vegetation were the focus of species collection through field visits and laboratory observations, followed by sorting from July to September 2023. Specimens were collected using sweep nets and subjected to behavioural observation and morphometric analysis in the laboratory. Five Mantis religiosa (Linnaeus, 1758) and four Amantis reticulata (Haan, 1842) were found throughout the study period. M. religiosa was more active and bigger than A. reticulata. The results revealed significant morphological differences between the two species, providing insight into their behaviours and ecological roles.
