The objective of this study was to estimate insecticidal effects of Urtica dioica among the associated human pest Musca domestica. The toxicity of leaves composition was experimented by ingestion estimating the lethal doses (LD50) which were 2.39, 3.16 and 5.48 mg/ insect) obtained, respectively after 1, 3 and 6 hr. After this preliminary study, LD50 was evaluated, on acetylcholinesterase and glutathione S-transferase. The enzymes specific activity revealed an increase in GST at all tested times 10, 15 and 20 min. However, AChE activity showed significant alterations only after 10 min of exposure comparatively of control.
