Abstract

An experiment on the evaluation of management modules against the sugarcane top borer Scirpophaga excerptalis was conducted from 2019-20 to 2021-22 at the Pusa Farm, SRI, Pusa. Data on incidence and yield in different modules (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5 and M6) reveals that all modules are significantly superior of these M2 (comprised of RDF, removal of deadhearts, collection and destruction of egg masses followed by drenching with chlorantraniliprole 0.4 G @ 25 kg/ ha after 90 DAP). Recorded least incidence (5.13 and 3.7%) followed by M3 same as M2 except for chlorantraniliprole replaced with flubendiamide 480 SC after 90 DAP. The module M4 (after 90 DAP) gave maximum yield (86.52 t/ ha) and generated the highest net income of 0.65 lakhs and BC ratio of 0.32.
