Abstract

A total of 250 Aedes aegypti larvae were exposed to doses of 0.5, 0.7, and 0.9 g doses of leaf extract of Chromolaena odorata with observations made on mortality of every 7 hr for 24 hr with three replicates. Mortality data were analyzed to determine the LC50 value (72 hr). The results showed that extract can kill the Ae. aegypti larvae with a dose of 0.5 g (48%), a dose of 0.7 g (65%), and the highest dose of 0.9 g (82.6%). This study concluded that the leaf powder is effective in killing Ae. Aegypti larvae.
