The performance of 23 sapota varieties was evaluated against the seed borer Trymalitis margarias Meyrick at the Fruit Research Station, NAU, Gandevi during 2015-18. The infestation was below 4% in Chala collection-1, Chala collection-3, CO-1, CO-3 and PKM-4. This increased to 7.43, 6.63 and 6.25% with Kirthibarthi, DHS-2 and CO-2, respectively, compared to the standard check Kalipatti (6.08%). The damage was maximum during December in Kirthibarthi, Kalipatti and CO-2 as 8.94, 7.78 and 7.69%, respectively at initial phase of fruit harvesting; DHS-2 revealed a peak damage of 8.64% during February at middle phase. Kirthibarthi showed more susceptibility (22%) compared to that with Kalipatti, while DHS-2 and CO-2 were more vulnerable. Chala collection-1, Chala collection-3, CO-1, CO-3, PKM-4, Zumakhiya and PKM-3 revealed overall 40 to 57% less susceptibility compared to Kalipatti.
