Abstract

The incidence of Rugose Spiralling Whitefly (RSW) within the coconut garden was monitored during peak period in the Chowghat Orange Dwarf (COD) variety from October to December 2018 at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Efficacy of yellow sticky traps smeared with adhesives viz., commercial grade castor oil, engine oil and grease was evaluated. The findings revealed that the maximum number of adults were attracted when traps were smeared with castor oil erected at the east direction @ 270.59 adults/trap/week. Dispersal distance and direction study revealed that the number of RSW captured by the traps decreased with increasing distance from the coconut garden in all directions.
