Screening of ridge gourd Luffa acutangula (L.) Roxb. genotypes against leaf miner Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) was undertaken during 2017-2018. The infestation varied significantly between the genotypes and age of the crop. Significantly less infestation was observed with Jaipur long (4.76± 0.55%) and Naagin (4.76± 3.88%) genotypes ; while the maximum was observed with Vdg-1 (20.97±4.66%), and the least with Naagin. The grouping to resistant categories revealed that none was highly resistant/ resistant ; DMRG-1, Jaipur Long, Arka Sumeeth, Mandira, Nandini and Naagin showed less infestation; while ERG-4, VDG-1, Torilong Krishna, NS-3 showed more infestation. High amounts of phenols and tannins, and less of total and reducing sugars were important biochemical traits to result in reduced infestation.
