An updated inventory of braconinae (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) parasitoids from northeast India

Braconid parasitoids are one of the most important groups of natural enemies used in biological control and are natural indicators of their host insects and the host plant biodiversity in an ecosystem. However, much work remains to be done on inventorying the species from the natural ecosystems in the northeast India. This study lists the 27 species of Braconinae, belonging to 15 genera known so far. Of these two genera, Aspidobracon van Achterberg and Testudobracon Quicke were observed to be new records from Manipur and Assam. An up-to-date systematic inventory of Braconinae with known distribution is provided. The faunistics, distribution and diversity are discussed. This inventory will provide an updated status of the species diversity to facilitate any further sampling and taxonomic efforts.
