A field experiment was conducted in rabi on linseed (var. Neelum) during 2004–05 and 2005–06 to establish relationship between levels of bud infestation and seed yield. The results revealed that the economic injury level (EIL) of linseed bud fly (Dasyneura lini Barnes) was found to be 4.53% bud infestation. The economic threshold level (ETL) was worked out as 4.41% bud infestation level. The correlation between levels of infestation (BFI%) and seed yield of linseed was significant and negative having r = - 0.9807** and b = - 4.48** in the agroclimatic conditions of Ranchi, Jharkhand when the crop was provided foliar protection with imidacloprid (0.003%) as foliar sprays.
