Abstract

Few lepidopteran larvae found on pulse crop are conveniently assigned to five different groups for facilitating separation. An analysis of the ratio of distance between prothoracic setae XD1 and XD2 with other pairs of setae of different body segments has been used and interpreted for classifying the larvae of Psychidae, Pterophoridae, Eucosmidae, Tortricidae, Tineidae, Pyralidae, Noctuidae and Geometridae.
