The objective of the study was to determine the effect of dietary aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) in growing malebuffaloesin termsoffeed intake, hematological and serum biochemical parameters. Thirty six bovine growing male buffaloes between 6 months to 12 months of age were divided in to four groups to receive diet having no AFB1, 0.6mg/kg, 0.8mg/kg and 1.0mg/kg AFB1offeed per animal per day for 28 days. The results indicate that the average daily feed in take of AFB1-treated growing male buffaloes significantly declined (P < 0.05) compared with the control. Serum levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and creatinine were significantly increased (P <0.05) in response to AFB1, However changein blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels was non-significant values of all hematological parameters decreased significantly (P < 0.05) in1.0mg/kg AFB1 group as compared to other groups after day 14 onward.
