Abstract

The present study was undertaken on pullets spread over 13 generations to estimate the direct and correlated response for economic traits in broiler dam line maintained at poultry breeding farm of Department of Animal Breeding, CCS Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar. The heritability of body weight at 20 and 40 weeks, age at first egg, egg weight, egg number upto 40 and 50 weeks of age, clutch and pause size pooled were 0.39± 0.10, 0.35± 0.09, 0.13± 0.04, 0.18± 0.05, 0.29± 0.08, 0.25 it 0.07, 0.13± 0.04 and 0.17± 0.05 respectively. The corresponding figures for individual selection responses per generation were 52.15g, 84.97g, -1.10 days, 0.53g, 3.18 eggs, 3.17 eggs, 0.03 eggs and -0.14 days respectively.
