Abstract

The survey of Osmanabadi goats of different age groups was conducted in Hingoli and Nanded districts of Marathwada region in Maharashtra state. The aim of study was to see relationship of body weight with linear body measurement in different five age groups (0–3, 4–6, 7–12, 13–36 and above 36 months). The total 799 Osmanabadi goat were surveyed out of which 270 were male and 529 were female. From the observations it was revealed that as age of male and female goat increases, the mean body weight inverses as well. Also, observed that with increase in body weight successive increase in mean body length, height at withers and chest girth. Indicated that there is highly positive correlation between mean body weight and mean body length, height at wither and chest girth, respectively.
