Abstract

The aim of the present study was to see the effect of dietary Fe on serum trace mineral and cholesterol status in broiler chickens. Significantly higher serum Cu concentration in chicks fed 120 mg Fe/kg from FeA or FeS. Further chicks fed FeA had a significantly higher serum Zn as compared to its counterpart receiving the diet with FeS. The serum Cu, Fe, Mn and total cholesterol values remained comparable among two sources. The dietary levels of Fe did not bring any significant changes on various serum trace mineral status including total cholesterol.
