Abstract

The research study shows the relationship of leadership styles with the job satisfaction of employees working in public and private sector banks of Ludhiana city. The study also determined the leadership style that managers have adopted the most. Standardized questionnaire was used to collect data on different leadership styles and employees ’job satisfaction from 300 employees at managerial level working in the selected branches of Ludhiana city, Punjab. The results showed that there is a significant relationship between democratic leadership style and employees ’job satisfaction and this democratic leadership style is more adopted by the managers of private sector banks as compared to authoritative and laissez faire leadership style. The research results also identified the satisfaction level of employees among private sector bank is higher as compared to public sector banks. The paper comes to an end with findings and discussions and then conclusion.
